Phoenix protocol is a first person shooter with light movement mechanics and a wide arsenal. The project has been in development for 9 months so far using the Godot Engine..
Inspiration
My biggest inspiration for this project is Halo 2. The combination of interesting set pieces, dynamic AI, and riveting music stood out to me.
Weaponry
All weapons are created in Blender using ShootaBreeder then imported and animated in Godot. I try to design and balance weapons to be unique and feel different to use.
Music
Music is by my close friend Coldy https://soundcloud.com/coldf. Give them a listen if you feel like something new. I like to bounce ideas off of them and they have great sound design for whatever they touch. Often I get inspiration when designing a map as I listen to their work.
Signing Off
With 9 months of development I admittedly do feel disappointed with the result so far. Only 7 weapons, simple turret enemies, and a decent map. However the foundation is set for greater work. I'll be happy if I manage to nail level design and create smarter enemies.
